Saccharine Escape

by thexshattered   Mar 6, 2007

Mommy, is it far away where you are?
I can see you sitting there, in the dark.

Tell me, why did your blood run down the walls
on a day you were never destined to fall?

Why did you go out so tragically,
with the blade I kept that was supposed to be for me?

Why did your wrist jerk, and cut too deep?
Why did you spill blood never intended to seep?

You took my place, that place in my dreams
where every thing's quiet, and nobody screams,

where babies are cradled so much they don't cry,
where children are happy enough not to lie,

where grown-ups don't beat their children to death.
Tell me right now, Mom, is this your test?

You told me to always believe in my faith,
that way I'll never make another mistake.

I apologize here, Mom, cause I'm too weak to care.
Maybe if you were here, I wouldn't dare
to hurt myself like you did at quarter past ten
on that final day that I wouldn't see you again.

Close your eyes, Mom, and brace yourself
cause I'm tired of being all by myself
in a place so tragic you could call it Hell,
where it's only quiet cause no one wishes you well,

where everyone's noisy cause they yell and they scream.
I'm coming now, Mom, it'll all soon be a dream.
