No One Knew

by Kristina   Mar 6, 2007

She was depressed
And no one knew.
No one could tell,
She hid her scars too well.

She couldn't explain her pain,
She couldn't stand all the lies,
She didn't know who to trust,
She just wanted to die.

Couldn't you see the smile she wore was not real?
Couldn't you see she was broken inside?
Couldn't you see she was hiding behind so many lies?
Couldn't you see she was all alone?

The only dream she ever had was to die,
So on this night she took the knife and ended her life.
She will no longer have to cry,
Or live this life full of lies.

The last stanza was my favorite..In the first "too" should have been "to". The rhyme sheme was off a bit also.. I think if you fixed it up a bit it would be great..It was full of emotion and so true for lots of people. 4/5

This was a beautiful poem, but the rhyming scheme was a little off. Fix it and it will be fantastic! <3.

    You caught it perfectly.
It's horrid that abuse is so normal and is starting to be viewed as part of life. I had to live with it through my sister and it's been almost two years now and she still hasn't healed all that much in any way. The reason a lot of people who have lived through it don't come forward is because they think that it was their fault even if their children.
All you can do is try to help them start over and learn that not everyone is going to hurt them like that.
