A Childs heart

by Alice Connell   Mar 6, 2007

I saw him on the other path
his eyes disguised by rage
he took two steps toward the child
his bloody hand he raised, the child turned round with a stare,
and said " dear sir, don't you care?"
" to hide your fears behind that glow
'tis not the perfect thing you know"
" share your fears with someone new,
because it help if you do"
the child then smiled, stood still and calm
the man then lowered his mighty arm,
he swiftly looked toward the ground
but his fears had gone, they must have drowned,
What had made the man do right?
'Twas the child's heart so pure and bright.
