Lies

by Sage x3   Mar 6, 2007

I'm hanging on to your lies,
terrified to fall,
you looked into my eyes,
and said I meant nothing at all,
I'm scared my chains won't hold,
you made me shine,
you turned wood into gold,
but left it behind.

I stopped in my place,
you still take up this space,
in my heart,
as 'us' falls apart,
Stop apologizing,
because I know you're wrong,
I've been running from you,
all along,
so catch my feet,
and knock me down,
you made me meet,
this cold, hard ground.

Let's consider the truth,
just for once in all these years,
did you believe yourself,
or did you drown in your own fears,
Can you even tell the difference?
Do you even know when you lie?
Did you ever know it was you
that always makes me cry?
