A Tribute

by merlyn paul   Mar 7, 2007

Car drives and outings, yummy food and joy
Filled my heart with rapture, as a child with a new toy.
Day after day, the kids and I by his side
Shared our dreams with him, his family was his pride.

Slowly it sunk in, dullness and pain
Took hold of him and shook him in vain
Visits to the hospital, dialysis day after day
Left him limp with pain, conversation drifting away.

Months passed by and finally a decision was made
The pain he is undergoing needs to come to an end
Date of the surgery, the donor and the place
Was all put together with amazing grace.

Calmness around, prayers all the time
The transplant was done and the donor was fine
But things were bad for my beloved one
He wasn’t responding to me or anyone

Few days later, his pain stopped forever
Tears of bitterness for us, rolled down like a river
Suffering ended, to a different place he was transported
Angels around him, a unique son of Jesus, from us departed.

Now he is no more, though his presence strongly felt
Do pray for us dear loved one, for our heartaches to melt
