Hopeless Dreaming

Inside my mind, there lingers
Just a thought of you tonight
Bits of hopeless dreaming
Of when you held me tight

Within your arms a wonder
That only we had shared
Now comes the hopeless taunting
Of a heart wrenched with dispair.

Too many days I waited
For your love to grow anew
But then the hopeless yearnings
Were found inside of you.

Now drifts of pain are seeping
Inside this haunted soul
And the hope is wasted
For love left long ago.

To think of when you held me
And the depths of distant dreams
Will surely find romancing
When you weigh the scheme of things

But for now I sit and wonder
As the moonlight shadows fall
Was it only wishful thinking
In my mind that I recalled.
