The Final Chapter

by Coeur Cassa Sage   Mar 8, 2007

She sits by his bedside
In utter silence
A gulp of air
Is all that is heard
Tears stain the face
of both beauty and grace
And a heart
for a moment
Turns sour
A rebellious daughter
and an understanding father
Look at eachother for the last time
Hand in hand
Both remember the sand
They felt the last time they met
Twenty years ago
The father was the foe
And now he is at mercy
For the first time
in a long time
She mutters something
He's been longing to hear
"Father, I'm sorry. For the pain you have.
I love you, and it's ok to go."
He looks up at her
A smile on his face
"My dear, you are forgiven
Be happy for the place
I am going to will be merry"
Tears stream down her face
As his soul
Take it's resting place
She's not crying anymore
For she knows
Now she has no foe
