Sorry seems to be the hardest word

Saying sorry can be tough
To swallow your pride
To admit you were wrong
Oh it seems to be the hardest word

It certainly sticks to my throat
Even when I want to apologize
Even when I know I should
I just find it very hard

But I have to do it anyways
I started it & caused the pain
Must swallow my pride
And admit I was wrong

So here I am now
Face to face with my best friend
When I looked her directly in her eyes
I saw that she was very hurt

I feel so bad...
And so ashamed
What made me do this to her?
A question I asked myself

Finally, I took a deep breath
I told her that "I am sorry"
And sealed it with a hug
To let her know Know it's from the heart

We both burst into tears
Then she smile,
Hug me once more,
And hit my head
For the pain I caused. :D
