Words

by Anna La Fleur   Mar 8, 2007

Late night, rolling words over my tongue
Taste them, feel them, learn them.
Search, scramble, desperation,
Franticly looking for the words you need to hear.
Every word I know, every word I can think of.
None of them fit.
They don't feel quite right.
Not yet.
Almost.
There.
Those are perfect.
They have to be the right words.
They have to be in just the right order.
Otherwise they're no good.
Still having trouble?
Here, try this.
Maybe.
No.
They have to work a certain way.
That doesn't work.
How about this?
There.
An intricate puzzle.
They only fit a certain way.
You have to get it just right.
Or else they'll never fit.

I thought that as really good, very imaginative and very creative, really good style. I like how you wrote it like if you were talkin to the reader which was really good. Nice job.
