A Sad Truth

by Somber Esprit   Mar 9, 2007

When you are in love,
You give yourself to someone else.
You hold them, stand by them, believe in them,
And pray for the same in return.
Often they reciprocate in every way they can.
Yet sometimes all they DO is SAY I love you
And they believe words are enough.
They really may love you,
But it hurts,
More so when you have been tender with them
But if you truly love them,
With every thought and action,
No matter how much it hurts, you stay,
It may kill you every time they let you down.
You may know they will never be there for you,
But still you hope.
Every little action matters to you but they seem oblivious.
When love turns from the tender cradling of each others hearts,
To an unwitting yet painful grip on one,
What should be done?
I love you,
But you hurt me!
Every day I think of us,
And the way it should be,
But it's not.
It never will be.
I can't end it.
I can't hurt you like that.
I still love you.
But,
You're crushing me!
Baby,
Please,
Let me go

i know it's not one of my best.
just needed to get some stuff off my chest.

So that had a great story behind it, and it came fromt he heart, thats all that matters. but I felt this was more a rant more than a poem. And I really couldn't find a rhym until the end...But I don't know if I just read it wrong...

This poem diden't do it for me it had the emotion but by the time Id'e got half way through I was getting bored it needs to be split up in to 3 or 4 stanzas this would help keep the reader intrested.
