Were you there?

by Alice Connell   Mar 9, 2007

After it happened
I saw your reflection,
You said that you loved me,
Would give me protection.

Were you there?
Was it you?
Where you there?
Is it true?

When I sat by the fire
I saw your cold face
I said there was no- one
Who'd take your dear place.

Were you there?
Were you real?
What is it you feel?

Now that you've gone,
left with no trace
Is it you that keeps haunting me?
Is it really your face?

Were you there?

God i am so sorry for your loss but the poem that you have written about the sadness and the pain is beautiful. Just remember to keep her in your heart because she will always be alive in your heart.
