Ride of the Phantom Lover

by elli_unleashed   Mar 9, 2007

Across the shadowed landscape my lover decends on his stallion of black,
His armor of burnt silver and his sword shimmering red.
Thoust has defeated the stalker of my hand,
For his blood seeps down the hilt, so lovingly of dread.
Sashay, sashay, he approaches with respect and awe,
The knights all watch as he enters the gates of Hawthorn.
His bloodied hands reach tighten the reins as he comes to a halt,
His chest plate is red and black, as if his victory reborn.
The lightning strikes as he leaves his dark steed,
His armor reflecting the moon as the sky begins to downpour.
The shelter of the hall protects him from the tears of God,
The clanking of metal as I enter the the hall of Hawthorn and lore.
He releases his helmet to reveal deadly eyes of dark moon blue,
And kisses me like the shadow of the very shadow that wanders beneath him.
The ride of my phantom lover has come to an end,
As I fall into his arms of bloodied sin.

I read this like a dream... so much imagery it was almost animated. Though it's a little dark for my liking, it was well-written.
