A Wild Ride

by UM   Apr 8, 2004

The engine roars,
The tires spin.
With too many drinks,
The driver forgoes strapping himself in.

He lets out a whoop.
The music is blaring.
Yelling to his friends,
To show his daring.

The car lurches forward,
Picking up speed,
Swerving from lane to lane,
In a ride of Greed.

It happened so fast,
He was gone in a flash.
He hit the tractor trailer,
With a terrible crash.

The frame buckled,
The sheet metal crunched.
The car folded in on itself,
And ate the young man for lunch.

The wreckage lay,
Twisted and forlorn.
The adrenaline rush is over,
It ended in the storm.

Very profound. This type of thing happens all the time, and you displayed exactly how it happens (in my opinion). Groovy poem.

Short and sweet. Not "sweet" but you know what I mean.
