Existing In My Memory

It hurts because I can't let go
So frightening I've lost control
Where every whisper bothers me
And pushes me from sanity

I try to pray and say I'm strong
Look back and think I'm moving on,
Run headfirst into life each day
Yet I'm still lost in yesterdays

They say you live to numb the pain
And with some time to love the rain
But I want to drown and sink in deep
These tattered words I cannot heave
For he does not deserve to be
Existing in my memory.
