Light Source

by Jessica   Mar 10, 2007

The sun melted behind the hills,
Twilight came into view,
Silence filled the air,
So did black and darkened hues.

Peace settled upon the valley,
The dark abyss had come to play,
Sleep hit those too weak to wake,
Darkness had come to stay.

It rested on the mountains,
Took residence in the heart,
Devoured every dream,
Tore every light apart.

Kidnapping every open eye,
Isolating every fear,
Caliginous filled each vessel,
Depression was it’s career.

Listen closely to the silence,
Peer into the night,
Wait for the sun to emerge,
And safely cradle the light.

You have talent. Not very many people can pull off a rhyming poem as beautifully as you did.
