R.I.P. Daddy

by DaddysLittlePrincess   Mar 10, 2007

Dear Daddy,

You always stood there with open arms
Welcoming me into you with all of your love
I just knew that everything would always be ok
And I loved how we fit together just like a glove

You always told me I was absolutely beautiful
Even when I was in sweats and puffy eyed
You always made me laugh at all the right times
I could count on you for a hug at my bedside

I remember when you taught me to dance
You never cared that I stepped on your feet
Just that I was spending time with you
And that I knew that you were all I need

You were always there to protect me
From scary nighttime creatures and the dark
You were that safe spot that I always turned to
Daddy's Little Princess was your trademark

I was always the center of your world
And the bond we shared was irreplaceable
You taught me how to persevere through hardship
And not to give up on my dreams and not to crumble

A daughter needs her daddy so she knows
What its like to be someone's favorite
And so she knows what she needs to look for
All that her man needs to have in his spirit

Daddy, you always were and always will be
My hero, My first love, My number one man
You've never let me down and you never will
I'll always admire you, I'm your number one fan

Love,
Your Princess

Oh sweetie. This was such an amazing poem, I'm really sorry for your loss (Or so I read in your request for a comment)...This poem made me all teary eyed because it was so naturally sweet, and even though I didn't lose my father I lost him at heart...he is non-existant to me and reading this brought back all the vivid memories of joys that a father and his daughter could have. I wish you the best of luck, this was an amazing piece and I look forward to reading more of your poems. Keep it up hun! 5/5
