Oh, Little House on the beach,
Why do you look so glum?
My owners have left me all alone,
But back they promised to come.
Where did the go, Little House,
And when will they return?
They walked into the ocean, my friend,
Never to come back I did learn.
Into the ocean, you say?
Well, did they drown?
Indeed, said the Little House,
Staring at the sand so brown.
But they aren't coming back, Little House,
Why to continue to wait?
It was them who put me here,
I believe February 18th 1985 was the date.
So they were your first and only owners,
Is that what you say?
And those were the happiest of my life
Those days.
Why did they put you here
And give you this life?
They had just gotten married -
They were husband and wife.
Did they ever talk to you
About the day they met?
The Little House's face glowed with excitement,
Oh, you bet!
Will you relay their story, Little House,
Of love to me?
It was a day like today,
He saved her from the sea.
Saved her from the sea?
Did she WANT to die?
She was sucked in by the hungry tide,
He said with a gentle sigh.
So, he saved her life, they fell in love
And became soul-mates?
A tear ran down his wooden cheek,
Now they're together at the Pearly Gates.
Did they not have children
With whom you could play?
Two little boys and a beautiful girl,
But they didn't want to stay.
You miss them a lot, Little House,
I can see it in your eyes.
He nodded his head slowly,
Not a single day passes without a good cry.
The beach is deserted, Little House,
You stay here all alone.
At least I know that I can say,
I was once a home.
