Growing Up

by ntv650   Mar 11, 2007

We have cried, laughed and danced together,
We made promises that we broke,
Looked at our future as many times if not more,
As we looked at our past.
And not once did we believe our story could end.

In our child-ridden lives we won't find
What we search for in our new adult world.
There is little room for dreamt ideas and stubborn arguments.
There is only worries, restlessness to refund our losses
And if we are lucky enough, someone to love us in-between.

But love is serious and a child's world is not.
There is no blasphemy without religion,
Or words that need a name signed above the dots.
Child's play is to become our longed past,
And a loveless illusion of what we are to have.
It is us, from child, teenager,-until we grow up
To start playing real life games, the funnest of which... is love.
