Forget them...

Forget them

By: Stephanie L. Homann

Young girl,

Don't hide from me

I am only trying to help you

I won't be the one to judge you

I may not understand

How it feels to be locked inside

With nobody who cares

And nobody who's there

They'll try to tell you what's wrong with you

Don't believe them, no don't believe them

Forget what they told you

Forget the bitter sweet promises they made to you

Forget those empty words

That once had filled you

Forget the feeling

Forget the aching and breaking

Forget how you felt

Every time they tried to touch you

So many voices tell me to keep going

Theres only one way I can face them

Fighting to keep the drugs inside

Down where my true self hides

This is what they've told you

This is all you have ever known

Don't listen to these dark lies and the abuse

Come see the light, the truth

They'll try to tell you what's wrong with you

Don't believe them, no don't believe them

Forget what they told you

Forget the bitter sweet promises they made to you

Forget those empty words

That once had filled you

Forget the feeling

Forget the aching and breaking

Forget how you felt

Every time they tried to touch you

You're not alone,

I can see you,

I can hear you,

I can feel you're heart beating.

Don't let it end now

Don't let them get you

You can make it through

Don't let go of all you hold onto.

Forget what they told you

Forget the bitter sweet promises they made to you

Forget those empty words

That once had filled you

Forget the feeling

Forget the aching and breaking

Forget how you felt

Every time they tried to touch you

Forget them

Forget them all

Listen to what I am telling you

Listen to what I am saying to you
