Primal Fear

by Rebecca   Mar 13, 2007

Running scared through the dark woods,
The hunter has become the hunted.
The evil shadows relentlessly taunt her,
And something behind her grunted.

With no where to hide in this creepy labyrinth,
She stops to tremble in chaotic fear.
She hears the shallow breathing of evil,
Seeing nothing but darkness, she lets out a single tear.

Her childhood fears have captured her,
She looks behind her to see piercing red eyes.
Paralyzed by fear, she is unable to move,
Hoping that this has been nothing, but lies.

It towers over her with an eerie, sadistic laugh,
Razor-sharp teeth and long sharp fingers.
It reads her thoughts and feeds on her fear,
Its evil, dark shadow always lingers.

All her life she has hated this clown,
Causing sleepless nights and interrupted dreams.
How can she ever face her fear?
But its too late, the clown looks down at her and beams.

Screaming and kicking with all her might,
Please, help me! Do not let it get me!
Waking up from this nightmare in a cold sweat,
This primal fear is all she can see.
