Letter to the Protestors

by PFC Louderback   Mar 13, 2007

You spit on my uniform,
I say your welcome.
You curse my beliefs and actions,
I say your welcome.
If you cut up my flag,
And drop it on the ground,
I simply look onward,
Although with an internal frown.

I fight for you,
Not to look on me as a hero.
I fight for your rights,
Without them you wouldnt be who you are.
No matter your views,
Your customs or beliefs,
I fight day and night so you may be safe.
Safe to speak your hateful words,
Do your hateful deeds,
Spit on the uniforms of others,
And be intolerant of their needs.

You do not hurt me,
Onlooker of hate,
So go on,
Speak your words,
Do your deeds,
For all you are doing in the end,
Is confirming the need.

The need of a soldier,
To stand in harms way.
To catch the flak from others,
Until your dying day.

It's good to know that there is someone else who is willing to bash protesters.
