The Girl Staring Back At Me

The girl staring back at me

I look at the girl staring back at me
Her eyes tells a story not a soul can see
A broken past hidden beneath her smile
Her looks can deceive you but her eyes never lie

Her body looks frail
Her face pale
This girl is maimed
From all the pain

Tears rolled down her cheek
I can tell that she's tired & sick
Her eyes now swell
She assume she'll never feel well

Still standing here
Thinking if I should go near
How much I wanted to give her a hug
To make her feel snug

To take those tears away
To tell her that "God is there, just pray"
But as I went nearer and nearer
I realized that the girl all along
Was nothing but a mirror
