Hallowed

by Chris Rodriguez   Mar 14, 2007

Does anyone believe anymore
That a Dream is worth fighting for?
Or have they lost all their visions
Is that why they destroy their decisions

Our generation doesn't have a reason
To sell themselves for cheap relief
It's just one more deep breath
Before we let go of all the weight we kept

It's a slow burn
But it won't take me long to figure out
That you weren't as loud in the crowd
As I thought you would be
No more hallowed be your name

Are you fighting for a ladder
To escape a great wall
Did you do it for a girl
To the moon you would crawl

It's hard to keep standing
When you're the only one
Trying to share a meaning
It's my ladder to the sun

I'm still here
I'm not dead

It's a slow burn
But it won't take me long to figure out
That you weren't as loud in the crowd
As I thought you would be
No more hallowed be your name

Great job on this. You have questioned the masses and made us do the same. Keep writing.
