The Moon's

by Brian n Josh   Mar 14, 2007

I watch day fade into night
That glorious period where the sun dies
And the moon is resurrected
- Watching the sun, the moon cries

The stars are born from the moon's tears
As they fall into the sky and freeze
I wonder if mine will turn so beautiful
When they get wiped by this breeze

I watch the water ripple
As I step into the water so cold
It shines back into my eyes
And lets its beauty unfold

My skin embraces the moisture
I step further into the ocean
The waves crash into my sides
Then retreats with broken motion

Everything seems silent
As I lose myself in thought
The world cannot reach me
For I am too distraught

The water entices my imagination
My life, so easily, can it take
Just one jump into...
...A drop falls and I come awake

Thunder blares through my silence
And the rain begins to pour
I become chilled as I soak from skin to bone
These dark thoughts are no more

The moon's tears are hidden by monstrous clouds
As they bicker amongst, lightning goes in the background
Their anger being released
Like a punch into the ground

The rain becomes too heavy
I fall into the sand
My emotions release
And my head falls into my hands

Cold and naked
I lie troubled on this shore
The rain beats upon my back
Every hit seems to puncture me to my core

So much have I been through
So much endured
I'm too far broken
No longer able to be cured

I lay there motionless
Until the tide rises to me and begins to whine
I roll over to watch the rain
Just thinking things over, one more time

Closing my eyes
I let out a breathe
With hesitance
I choose life over death

Standing, I look at the endless beach
And I head toward infinity
Knowing this time will be harder
And life gives no lenity

Still I will head on
Remembering this occasion
I shall not falter
As I find my way toward my vocation

Even with me gone
The waves still crash
And thunder roars
As the clouds still clash

However, the rain still falls,
So endless it flows,
Not from the clouds it seems
But from that mysterious glow

For the moon saw me injured
The sight had taken its toll
So it began to weep
For another lost soul

Yet it was the rain
That seemed to save
But only I was alive
The other still buried in his grave

So still the moon wept
Filled with so much woe
Not noticing through the tears
Streams of light, forming a rainbow

As the sun so gallantly rose
Beyond the east sky
Drying up all those shed tears
Allowing the moon to breathe, and let out a sigh

So thus the moon fell back to its bed
As the sun resumed its reign
Never shall either forget
That moment of death, prevented by the rain

side note *lenity = the act of leniency
and vocation in this means destiny
