Edicius

by Wings Of Flames   Mar 14, 2007

Cold icy hands,
Paused blue lips,
Crimson splattered basin,
Black moon eclipse.

Skin severed.
Blood shed.
Body mangled.
No needle thread.

There is no note.
There is no sign.
There is no life.
So all is fine.

Her hair is damp.
Her smell is old.
Her eyes are grey,
And so behold.

Her agony has ended.
The spirit lies dead.
Her heart unbeaten,
Nothing to be said.

But her sorrow shall haunt,
For no one heard her cries.
There is no happy ending,
In a house filled with lies.

I reallylike the word choice in this poem, and the imagery creates...images...in my head... lol.
But the one thing it didn't do for me was keep rhythm. With the Constantly changing stanzas, varying in length in sylabbles, it was a little messy. But it's still good.

Excellent piece. My eyes drew in every word. You paint a very cold picture.

I loved the imagery within this poem it was very haunting and it is a very interesting piece. There is one thing though I think that the flow is interrupted by the abrupt change in pace in the 5th stanza. For me that change is the one thing that weakens this piece slightly I wouldn't vote it down because of it but I thought I should comment on it.. Apart from that though I thought it was a great haunting and dark piece.
