Black Fog

by Rebecca   Mar 14, 2007

Endless smoke is all she can see,
A vapor so dense, she can barely breathe.
Stuck in a void so engulfing and bleak,
Capturing her dreams, she is unable to speak.

So dense, so heavy, so black and dark,
Can this be nothing, but a childish lark?
The suffocating poison is absorbing through her pores,
Gasping for breath, she cannot take much more.

With no way in and no way out,
She has to push and find her way about.
Like a black curtain, she cannot see through,
With no will left, there is nothing more she can do.

She is fading into darkness and smog,
This black fog is an endless, foul bog.
Mindlessly roaming through this blank,
She feels as if she is walking the plank.

She is scared and confused and all alone,
She feels a chill right to the bone.
With any kind of life nowhere to be found,
She curls up in a ball on the moist ground.

Fear trembles down her clammy cheeks,
She hates herself for being so weak.
She opens her eyes with a new surprise,
For seeing the sunshine brought tears to her eyes.
