No one there

by Olga   Mar 15, 2007

I put the flowers in a vase and watched them day to day.
they wilted, frayed, and bent.
I watched each petal fall from it, hitting the dining room table.
Each day the petals fell, one by one, i watched them fall.
Until there was a bare stem.
And still i left it all, i did not clean them up.
For it reminded me of you, of the love we had.
We slowly wilted, frayed, and bent.
Each day our love grew smaller, falling apart, until nothing was left.
And no one was there to pick up the pieces, no one there to help.
SO i left the petals on the table and the stems inside the vase.
