Hear My Plea

Alone,
Face in the hands that pushed friends away,
Heart in the hands that have gone astray

Scared,
Is there some kind of message that was neglected?
Why am I slowly but surely being rejected?

Abandoned,
Lies were all around when friends said the words of love were true,
Friends turn their backs when they see the weak side of you.

Angry,
Why care in the beginning when all the love turns to hate?
Would I have poured out my heart if I knew this was our fate?

Nostalgic,
When looking back to moments I will never forget
Tears stream down my face with regret

Compassionate,
Would you erase me, my dear friends?
Or will you fight for this love until the very end?

Please dear ones,
Listen to my plea,
Do not leave for the tears,
You cannot see.

    The beginning words of this poem pulled me right in ... I wanted and needed to read more. The emotions set are strong.
    Very impressive!

    I like how you go through each feeling ....

    I am not a big fan of question marks in a poem but they seemed to work well with this piece.

    How very touching this is. A true friend is hard to find. This poem really moved me.
