Bittersweet

by NonsensicallyNeurotic   Mar 16, 2007

I wasn't the sweetest
But I was sweet
That was all that mattered to you
Those kids called you names
They hated you for no reason

I stood up for you every time
You asked me to come over to hang out
I said
No
Looking back, I supress tears
Still

Cancer
A curse
Who would've thought you
pure of heart and soul
would get
Cancer?

First a walking stick
Then a wheelchair
Then you disappeared
For awhile
When you came back,
Your leg didn't come with.

AMPUTATION

I'm sorry I was ever annoyed even slightly
I apologize for being gone when you needed me
I wish I could go back

You made it past eighth grade
I could see
You were fading fast

You died
Death
My heart is black
and cold
because you're gone

Summer is a time of happiness
It felt like winter
Endless cold and suffering

Even though we were never best friends
I love you
I miss you
I look at you every day and wonder why

Never forget Ashley Rose Birkholz
The sweetest girl I have ever known
And ever will know

Very sad, yet in it's own way beautiful piece. Nice job.
