Nevermore

by Twisted Heart   Mar 16, 2007

For nevermore, I will not weep
No tears shall fall on satin sheets
No night will hold me in its grasp
Or promise love forever lasts

For nevermore, I will not hold
Your words of love deep in my soul
And not a lingering of your lips
The taste of them will not be missed.

For nevermore, My touch will creep
Inside your dreams that conquer sleep
And hold on fast inside the storm
A passion that from me was torn.

For nevermore, you'll see me fold
From the weight of heartache's hold
Forever leaving me alone
With empty promises I have known.

For nevermore, you'll see me break
Or feel the pain of loss that shakes
The very breath of love will find
No longer etched within my mind.

If memories should find their way
Inside my mind, they will not stay
No tears will fall on my heart's door
Now love is gone... for nevermore.
