The lightening crashes off the soiled ground wet with rain
The young child screams and hides afraid
But not of the rain or thunder
She is afraid of her father
He comes in every night
He sleeps with her, touches her
She can not stand it
She hates it
She wonders why her mom will not help her
Why is no one helping her?
She is alone in this world
Waiting to die
That is what she wishes for on the stars she sees at night
She wishes to die on her birthday cakes
When she should be wishing for ponies like other little girls
But she just wants to be left alone
That will never happen though
God must not like her
He will not give her death
And he will not give her life
What did she do wrong?
She is sorry for everything she did to deserve this
But no one deserves this
No one
Yet they let it happen
And she is not the only one
Yet they let it happen
There are thousands of others
God will not help her,
Her mother will not help her,
No one is helping.
She must help herself
Tonight her father will not be able to take advantage of her
She will not be helpless
She is strong,
But not strong enough to make it out of this
They find her on the bathroom floor
An overdose claimed her life
Her mother weeps
She cries at the loss of her daughter
She is with God though
She may have committed a sin
But He will protect her
He will show her life
She knows this,
She is happy
She is safe in God’s arms
She will be loved forever
