You were the one I always turned to I only ever sat on your knee I helped you in the garden You gave advice to me I thought you'd always be there To tickle my knee like you did But something evil happened I thought you'd be lying in a ditch But instead you chose the furnace The hot flames surrounded you I want you back, don't leave me Granddad I really miss you What horrid thing stole you From the life you loved to live You were such a generous person You didn't take unless you’d give Remember that trip I went on You paid the whole amount How long is it since you've gone How many days, I lost count I miss you, please come back I know grandma wants you too And mom she has your picture Now your house is like a zoo Grandma will soon be with you I know because she's ill Everyday at a certain time she has to take her pills I know you will look after her When your re-united I know you didn’t want to leave But you cant always fight it
