To My Father

Father, I don't understand
Why you had to leave
All of this is so sudden
Making it very difficult to believe.

This is so hard
You and I never got along
But now I know
That how we were was all wrong.

I wish that I could have changed things
That you and I had been okay
My heart is hurting so deeply
As I try to struggle through today.

So now father,
I want to say to you
One last thing before you go
That I'm sorry and I will miss with all I do.

**Dedicated to my Father, James Fredrick Dubuque. Died on March 30, 2004. I love you and will miss you always even though we always fought and hardly got along!! I love you!**

    wow! i am soooooooooooooooo... sorry that you now have to live life w/o ur dad. and the fact that the two of you alwayz fought must not be easy either. it was a great poem though, and it touched a place in my heart.
