The Question

by I Seem to be the Heartless   Mar 17, 2007

I'm a girl,
Just a little girl
Lost in this world,
This world of pain.
I have nowhere to go,
No one to turn to.

Why have I been left out here
To face this on my own?
Why won't anybody help me?
Am I not worthy of their assistance
Or is it them who feel unworthy?
But why would they feel this way towards me?
I'm just a lost little girl,
Facing this world alone.

I have no strengths,
No way to protect myself
Against the wrath of the world.
I am weak and scared.
I'm scared of being alone,
But that's always how I am.
I worry about failure,
Being a loser.
I'm afraid of love,
But it's what I want,
What I spent my life searching for!

But what type of life is one lived in fear?
Or turn it around and the question becomes:
" If you live your life in fear,
What the use in living? "

Sad poem, and the ending question is a good one. A life living in fear is no life at all, but that does not mean life should end, it means you should cure yourself of fear. If no one will help you, I'm afraid you've looked in all the wrong places.
