So long, so long I yearned for yet another glimpse And your warm nearness's bliss Imagined so many a kiss Of all that river that passed beneath the bridge so cold Every moment I waited, bated in breath for the ship to take me Your shores beckoned me In anticipation of that moment When I'd hold you tight, And comfort you in my arms Wipe your lonely tears and allay all the fears Drive away the unsaid pain With one caress of my hand If only you'd with your eyes see And opened that hurt heart For the torrent of endless love that I brought from across the seas That was not to be, alas! for you're afraid of being hurt And therefore, wouldn't let go that pains me more and adds to my woe For one moment, my tender love cant you see you mean to me The Sun, Stars & this whole world And slip in my arms & curl up to me? It perhaps was not meant to be from the beginning of time... Things always turn to be best When you let them & lay to rest
