I turn to say goodbye

by silence   Mar 19, 2007

So many come
And so many go
But their imprints still linger
Their feelings still show

Their taken too soon
We often forget
Of the days together
Or the days we met

When they’re taken so young
There so much left to do
And you start to wonder
Could the next be you

Some barely get started
Before they’re taken away
Some a couple of years
Some only a day

You sit atop their graves
And you wonder why
Why’d they even have to begin
If they were so soon to die

Now in this cold ground
Is where they lie
And as we walk away
I turn to say goodbye

This is one of my favorites from you Silence.. it's so sad and I can relate to it in so many ways. I've asked myself those questions and have wondered those same things. My best friend Nathan died in a car accident almost a year ago and I thought those same thoughts about him... life sucks. 5/5 <3 <3 <3 <3

At first I thought it was a poem about ending relationships but then I realised it was about death. Either way it's good. It rhymes well, it's been thought through and it's no childish attempt. Nice work x

Great poem mostly because the flow it has it's perfect and the message so real, it hurts. great work
