The Morning Sun

The grass outside was
Like a bright image of you
Sparkling with love

With love, you grew
Like leaves on trees
Into the world
You were golden
Like the morning sun

The wind was strong
Just like the arms
You hold me with
Hugging me close
I feel your heartbeat

Never leaving my side
You are treasure
My gorgeous possession
Ruled by love and care
You will always be there

Was written for a competition. It had to start of with a haiku. Stanzas 2 and 3 had to have a syllable count of 4, 4, 4, 4, 5. Stanza 4 was free verse, and stanza 5 was just a repitition of stanza 2.

    This was my favourite part, I found it beautiful.
    I think you did a great job with this, the imagery was beautiful and though each stanza had different syllable counts or different forms, I thought you managed to keep the flow beautiful.
