Dad

by Francine   Mar 19, 2007

(September 1996)

As I look back through the years
At the big influences in my world
Some who have come and gone
Since I was a little girl.

I recall one who made me laugh,
One who made me cry,
One who could scare the hell out of me
And taught me not to lie.

One who's support has meant so much
Through tattoos and funky clothes
Who didn't even flinch
When i said I'd pierced my nose.

One who's advice I take to heart
To this very day
One who GAVE his heart
And unlike most, didn't take it away.

One who treated me like his own,
Even when life was bad
And no matter what anyone says
He is the one that I call "Dad".
