Silver Tears

by Rebecca   Mar 19, 2007

Sitting in the darkness,
Her silver tears are all you can see.
Glowing in the brisk dark,
Just watch her cry and let her be.

Her silver tears are completely innocent,
Chrome-colored flesh of bitter salt.
She cries much sadness and sorrow out,
Everything she loved and lost is her own fault.

They fall ever so delicately on her lap,
And dissolve and fade away.
Her clothes are damp with pain,
Wishing for wings, so she did not have to stay.

Her silver tears are loved and hated,
She cannot stop their persistent flow.
She closes her eyes and takes a breath,
The wind howls against the window and blows.

Silver tears can be so painful,
They hold distant memories and crusted love.
A love so dull, dying and jaded now,
She wishes she could fly away with the doves.

These silver tears burn through her,
They cling on her face and cascade down.
She tries to stop them, but fails to do so,
She tries to be happy, but lets herself drown.

This was beautifully written, it had great imagery, and they flow was smooth. It seems like you were saying that sadness can't always be stopped or avoided, which in reality it can't. Keep up the good work. *5/5*

I liked the first part very much, it creates a mysterial picture in my mind, I could really see the tears for my eyes.

Wishing for wings, so she did not have to stay.
This was a great line, often used probably but almost never misses her effect

Be carefull though that you keep writing this good because at the end of you poem your writing got a bit weaker. I know that that's almost inevadable but maybe you could look at this again.

In general a very good poem that struck my eye
