Medallion

Medallion
by Tine Delien

Slightly bruised emotion
Pours onto your face
And turns itself into a smile
Filled with much disgrace

A Paris full of wonders
Lights up in your eyes
As some old guy tells you
A little more about demise

Perhaps you could say more
Or show the world gentility
A broken pearl surrounds your head
Your head, which is formed perfectly

Your legs walk still every day
And kick at everything near
To prevent someone from getting close
Scared of saying, full of fear

How every night you stare
At the medallion around your neck
And then you cry ‘till day begins
Because you only want him back
