Understanding Tears

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Mar 19, 2007

Maybe one day
Maybe one day soon
You'll take the time
To sit down
And understand our tears

I've done it
For close to two months
But now it is your turn
I am passing you the torch

I'll help you out
On this pointless endeavor
Just call out to me
I will do whatever

To understand your tears
First, you must isolate yourself
From every single one of your peers

The next step includes
Plunging yourself into darkness
Where no one hears your cries
And no one cares if you die

It hurts for a while
But the pain goes numb
Just clear your head
There is no rule of thumb

You'll cry for some time
It too will stop
Don't try to win
You'll never end up on top

This is the truth
Take it or leave it
No use in a struggle
Or throwing a fit

It'll only hurt you more
And make the wound grow deeper
Continue the fight
And you might catch a glimpse of the Reaper

Life gets harder
As people stare
Don't take there stares as generosity
Because, believe me, they DO NOT care

You'll find yourself
Looking to the past
You force yourself to think
"This will not last"

But trust me it will
It will burn your very soul
There's no hope for escape
In your heart will remain a hole

You might try something
To get your mind off things
But you'll quickly discover
It's nothing but a false release

Reality begins to set in
"It's over, I lost, you win"
It's quite a shame
When it hurts to say their name
