Roses and switchblades

by HollywoodSmile   Mar 19, 2007

Broken and battered
torn and tattered
blade rising
time flying

black roses
bloody knives
you've got only one chance to live this life

screaming and bleeding
death from so much self-beating
time is so slow
its dying
as I'm crying

white roses
red rainfall
no more poses
no more crap from you Neanderthals

broken
barely breathing
trying to stop the seething
being so blind that no one is seeing
what is so painfully true

battered
withering away
like the pains of yesterday
slowly, helplessly

torn
like all hope
all dreams
all wants
the nothing that everything means

tattered
aching, shamed
lost, unclaimed
loathing the giver of life
and begging for the knife

Oh my, this poem is amazing. Emotion runs abound and it is so strong. Description and imagery take turns unfolding a short movie clip of this. Anyone reading this will be able to step in your shoes for a moment. I think that this piece is terrific and you have penned something absolutely amazing.

Wow, love the layout and and the rhyming of:

    white roses
    red rainfall
    no more poses
no more crap from you Neanderthals

the ending was great and that is one of the best poems i've ever read. 5/5 keep writing.
