Consequential Love

by I Seem to be the Heartless   Mar 20, 2007

All our actions have consequences.
All our doings have results.
I've spent my lifetime loving you,
But it seems, to no avail -
You'll never truly love me in return.
That, however, will not stop me
From giving you my all,
From loving you with all I have.
And although loving someone
Has its consequences,
I will stand up and take
The punishment for my actions.
Because if loving you
Means to die
At the hands of Love,
Then so be it!
I will love you,
No matter the consequences.

You had a nice flow going, and I think the free-verse was a good choice, since I don't think "Consequential" rhymes with anything. :) The use of punctuation in this poem was rather nice, it helped the flow a lot.
