Merciless Fear

by Heather   Mar 20, 2007

It thunders below as steps are taken
Heart races, pounding with fright
Knees choosing to shake
With a resilient weakness
Feeling arms drop
With a violent weight
Microphone glaring,
It challenges the mind
Anxiety seeps through
Every inch
Every gap
Shivers take over
Forcing a brutal surrender
It hurts
A pain great than a blow to the face
Wanting to melt away like ice
Bright lights peirce surroundings
Thousands of dark eyes loom
Waiting for some sort of
Uknown happening to occur
Breaths get heavier
Palms triple the sweat
Pupils widen at blank thoughts
Wait
Wait
Silence is death
On the merciless stage
