WoRds

by Heather   Mar 20, 2007

They whisper from ear to ear
They shout from face to face
They signal from hand to hand
Yet, sometimes they seem so hard to understnad

They carry the weight of anger
They carry the weight of grief
They carry the weight of joy
But allow us to approach that boy

They lie within creased notes passed during class
They stumble over lines and paragraphs
They fly across paper like blackbirds in the sky
And they make us ask the question 'why?'

Is it possible they are so powerful?
Without them, we have nothing
They are just what you heard
Yeah, words
