Time's Demise

by ben thompson   Mar 20, 2007

Soft pink petals wither quietly in the swarthy night.
Warrior's release their foes souls with frivolous delight.

When winter's icy call beckons it matters not who you are.
Death will search midnight over, his reach is near and far.

A ancient and stubborn oaks branches sag under time's weight.
A wise and devout old women awaits transition to heaven's gates.

A statue both worn and weathered cracks under the sun's brilliant rays.
A hollowed and wasted man eaten by cancer's ravenous rage.

Our stories end speeds forth and tastes so bittersweet.
Seems like just yesterday the world was at our feet.

We never know which breath we take will finally be our last.
So live each moment the best you can, leave sadness in the past.
