The Nightmare of Wives

by The Queen of Spades   Mar 20, 2007

Her heard
Against the bedpost
His breaths,
Cpming out in snores
Her insomnia is
Only an indication
That he will sleep
Much more
Its the middle of the night
And she wonders
Why the silence
has turned to thunder
And though her king
Dreams so peacefully
Her life's a play
Of one emotion:
Misery.
This was not the vow
She took one day
To cry over and over
Again, yet still stay
She drifts off
To her merciless thoughts
"For better or worse"
And worse yet again
The knowledge
That the torment
Will never end.
