That's where I want to be

by Chelsey   Mar 20, 2007

Twenty years from now, when I'm older and grown
I want to be married and have a possession of a home
Twenty years from now, I want to have a child in my arms
I want to shop for animated movies, diapers, and lucky charms

I want to walk the roads of hell and come out brighter than I was
Seeing clearer than all that earlier fuzz
I want to make mistakes, and not think negative in a loss
Because I know I can go running to the power of the cross

Twenty years from now I want to hold the hand that holds the world
I want to be an inspiration to the hurting boys and girls
I want to save this generation from falling off the edge
I want to see more people believe in God and make a religious pledge

I want my children to raise their hand in church and not be afraid
To lift up our Lord and praise his holy name
I want those with broken hearts to be able to look at me
And shake my hand and say, "you are where I want to be"

But twenty years from now, what I want even more
Is to still have my faith, still believe in my savior
My God, so perfect, never falling off the rim
I want to go to the place where I can be made like him

I want to walk with the Lord hand in hand
To feel safe and get to know his plan
God said to put him first and get all the desires of my heart
So I hold on tight with a grip that won't let me pull apart

Chelsey, I'm speechless. You inspire me. Twenty years from now I want this, too. This is a powerful write that hopefully when its read will bring more people into the knowledge that Christ is the answer, and at the same time inspire them to help the younger generation before it's too late.
