The Demon Inside

by Travis   Mar 21, 2007

As he sits there in the shadows,
Thoughts run franticaly inside,
Of all the times he shared,
With the woman he loved.

But then that day arrived,
When it all fell down,
And he lost it all,
With a letter.

The letter was so simple,
It said just a few words,
That really mattered,
"You aren't good enough."

The people tore it all down,
With those four words,
The words hurt him,
They hurt like hell.

He would sit and wait for the call,
That he would tell the woman,
Just what was written,
Upon that paper.

That he wouldn't see her so much,
Not those thrity minutes a day,
Only maybe once a week,
Would he see her.

He would live on without the angel,
In such torment he would live,
Suffering for those years,
Letting his true shape free.

Letting the demon inside break,
Letting it kill everything that ever was,
Between him and the woman,
With each call from her.

He killed her each chance he got,
Until the day she no longer was,
When she finally snapped,
And lost it all.

She snapped under the pain,
From that demon inside,
She purged the world,
Of her soul.

That killed him inside,
He broke past the demon,
And let it all go,
He found her body...

With that it was over,
He took the knife,
And slowly...
Ended the story.
