Slipping Away

by Daisha   Mar 21, 2007

Sleep threatens to envelop me,

Never again to awake.

The pills go into effect,

My pain recedes as my life fades.

All I can muster is one last whisper.

I am sorry. I am sorry I failed you.

Life has become too much,

I am not as strong as I appear.

My life is slipping away,

All traces of consciousness,

Are slipping through my fingers.

I am sorry, I whisper again,

I can no longer handle the pain.

With one last fading glimpse,

The world is ripped away.
